Diabetes- Make Sure You Keep Fit!
I was told that I had diabetes type 1 at a very young age of 12 which at the time was not great, it really did seem like it was going to be the end of the world, somehow an infection had managed to get into the pancreas which of course resulted in it shutting down for good, not the best of things to happen to you at that age. A lot of the time blame can be put on someone else in the family as they may have it and it has been passed down in the genes but not this time, I couldn’t even blame myself.
So at this age I really did feel like it was the very end of the world? I was hours from falling into a coma thanks to the Doctors not being able to recognise why I had been barfing for 3 days straight and to be honest I had no idea what Diabetes was until I had been diagnosed. The thing is, it took a good few months of me getting used to having it before I was told I could get back to doing some sports again. Once people get to this stage you will find that a lot of diabetics will simply give up and not want to do any exercise at all because they are perhaps scared or just damn lazy.
Surely exercising is just going to make the blood sugars fall?? Of course they are going too if you do not handle it correctly. To make sure that you do not fall into a Hypo I would simply do what I do and take a couple of glucose tablets before you exercise. I used to actually have a small sandwich before I took part in any physical activity simply because carbs are known to keep the energy levels up.
A dehumidifier as well as an air purifier and ceiling fan have all proved to help with the condition of the air in a room, while not benefitting diabetics directly they do help to rid the air of all the nasty things that a diabetic could ca
