Ways To Hang Decorative Mirrors

By Otto On February 4, 2010 Under Finance

You know how people always love their homes to reflect their personality, style, touch and so on. One of the best forms of expression is through the fitting of decorative mirrors.

Once you’ve purchased your mirror you want to make sure that it is mounted correctly to avoid any accidents happening. It would be very sad having invested in a mirror to break because it wasn’t secure. You just have to make sure that you do it properly and with care. You can check out any of these for a mirror and other accessories: chrome mirror clips, oval bathroom mirrors, decorative mirrors

The position where you will place the mirror is important. There are a number of things that you can hang up your mirror with. One option is to have two studs with a wire attached running across the width at the back. You can secure the mirror by hanging it onto a stud on the wall.

another option is to use glue or adhesive and firmly stick it in place. There are two types available here. There is the type that you will paste to the back of the mirror running its full length and width and stick it your wall. Or you could have adhesive pads that you stick at strategic points along the mirror and then stick it up on the wall.

The disadvantage of hanging a mirror in this manner is that it becomes sort of permanent. So it would work well in places like the bathroom where you know you are unlikely to change the position of the mirror anyway. Even in places like passages and entrances you can use this method as well.

Another thing is that decorative mirrors usually have a metal or wooden frame and it is this frame that can be used to hang the mirror in place. With a metal frame the mirror can either be riveted or bolted into place and screws can used to attach the type with a wooden frame. Normally the place where you buy the mirror should be able to give you advice on the best way to hang your particular mirror up.
