3 Fast Tips For Effortless Scrapbooking Fun

By Otto On August 7, 2010 Under Hobbies

A few weeks I go I would feel sick whenever I went near my scrapbooking place. From experience I knew that whenever I actually try to do serious work, something goes wrong. Often my tools broke or I couldn’t find them and almost every time I ruin a difficult cat as I try to lift it off the cutting mat.

I know, these all are but little annoyances but they add up quickly and snowball into one big frustration. And when you’re frustrated your creativity goes down the drain and you have no chance of getting into the Zone.

Since then I thought a lot about those little things that go wrong. I decided to take a close look at my creative process itself and not the content – and now I look forward to my scrapbooking every time!

In this blog post I have put together my three very best tips for productive and enjoyable scrapbooking sessions:

Tip #1 – Design Your Workplace With Intention

Take a blank piece of paper and divide it into two sections for two lists. On the first list, put down everything you need and how often you need it. On the other side jot down the different techniques and methods you typically use for a project.

This should give you an idea of how to structure your workplace so you have easy access to the things you need most frequently. Put everything in place so you can sit down and get right to work!

Tip #2 – Use Good Tools

I cannot overstate how a set of good tools changed my scrapbooking.

I recommend the Cricut essentials tool kit even if you don’t own a pricey Cricut cutting machine.

Tip #3 – Have A Finishing Routine

Create a completely routine you will use from now on to wrap up each session to bring your workplace back into its ideal, de-cluttered state. As you put your stuff away, write down any materials that you have to buy. If you don’t do it now, you will surely forget!

If you use just these three tips from now on, your projects will be much more enjoyable. Especially the first one has done it for me.
